How much subsidy can I get for rooftop solar?
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, homes get ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW, up to ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above. It's paid to your bank account after installation and inspection. Commercial buildings aren't eligible.
How much roof space do I need?
About 80 to 100 sq ft of shade-free roof per kW. A typical 3 kW home system needs around 300 sq ft.
Do solar panels really cut my bill?
Yes. With net metering, a two-way meter records the units your panels send to the grid and the units you draw. You pay only for the difference. Try the solar calculator to estimate your saving.
Will solar work during a power cut?
A standard on-grid system switches off during a power cut for safety. A hybrid system with batteries keeps essential loads running when the grid is down.
Is rooftop solar compulsory in Chandigarh?
Chandigarh Administration requires rooftop solar on residential plots of 500 sq yd and above, and on many commercial and institutional buildings. We can check whether the rule applies to your property.
How long does installation take?
Fitting the structure, panels and inverter usually takes one to three days for a home. Net-meter approval from the electricity department can add a few weeks, and we follow it up for you.
Do you offer maintenance after installation?
Yes. We service solar systems, ACs, inverters and batteries, and offer annual maintenance contracts.
